Toward automatic generation of control structures for process flow diagrams with large language models
arXiv:2211.05583v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) is a crucial step during process development. We propose a data-driven method for the prediction of control structures. Our methodology is inspired by end-to-end transformer-based human language translation models.
Toward autocorrection of chemical process flowsheets using large language models
arXiv:2312.02873v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: The process engineering domain widely uses Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to represent process flows and equipment configurations. However, the P&IDs and PFDs, hereafter called flowsheets, can contain errors causing safety hazards, inefficient operation, and unnecessary expenses. Correcting and verifying flowsheets is a tedious, manual process.
Building user-driven climate adaptation products
Abstract Climate adaptation products have traditionally been developed using a supply-driven model reliant on available climate information, leading to usability gaps1,2,3,4. To better meet user needs, the climate services field has recognized a need to shift towards a demand-driven model emphasizing co-production, that is, user-driven, scientifically informed products created through shared knowledge practices1,2,3,4,5. However, co-production can be challenging, especially for researchers...
An experimental study on the heat transport in porous media convection
arXiv:2606.06331v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We investigate the heat transport in porous media convection over a wide Rayleigh-- Darcy number range of $26.8\leq Ra\leq 2.62\times 10^5$, and a Darcy number range of $6.18\times10^{-7}\leq Da\leq 1.21\times 10^{-5}$. In the experiments, we employ 3D-printed lattice structures as the solid porous matrix and water as the working fluid.
Magenta RealTime 2: Open and Local Live Music Models
We’re excited to share Magenta RealTime 2 (MRT2), a state-of-the-art open model and efficient real-time inference engine that enables you to build and play AI musical instruments on your laptop! To get started, download the apps on your MacBook (requires Apple Silicon). Unlike other large generative music models that work offline to turn a prompt into a track, MRT2 is a live, interactive model that you can control with MIDI and audio, in addition to text.
Lignin to adipic acid in a high-yield chemical and biological redox process
Abstract Viable manufacturing pathways to produce bio-based chemicals from renewable feedstocks, such as lignin derived from plant biomass, are needed to decarbonize the chemicals manufacturing sector. Converting the recalcitrant lignin polymer to valuable bioproducts remains a longstanding challenge in biorefining, with the highest reported single-product yield from lignin currently around 20 wt% (refs. Most existing lignin depolymerization strategies target aryl–ether bond cleavage, which...
Surrogate normal-forms for the numerical bifurcation and stability analysis of navier-stokes flows via machine learning
Announce Type: replace Abstract: Inspired by the Equation-Free paradigm, we propose an ``embed-learn-lift'' framework for constructing minimal-dimensional surrogate ROMs for the numerical analysis of high-fidelity Navier-Stokes simulations, even in the presence of symmetries that standard machine-learning surrogates often fail to preserve. The framework consists of four main stages.

Building a LangGraph pipeline for production data engineering
LangGraph is becoming the default framework for teams building agentic AI workflows. That is both a good thing and a problem. The good part: it has real production pedigree, is actively maintained, and is used by teams doing serious work.
