RSC: Decentralized Rigid Formation Flocking for Large-Scale Swarms via Hybrid Predictive Control and Online Reconfiguration
arXiv:2606.04248v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Decentralized rigid formation flocking requires a swarm of autonomous agents to maintain a predetermined geometric configuration while moving, relying solely on local sensing and communication. However, existing decentralized control methods struggle to maintain strict inter-agent distance constraints in cluttered environments, often suffering from local minima deadlocks, high frequency control oscillations, or limited flexibility during...
The Tempest review – Kenneth Branagh returns to the RSC in this enchanting production
Kenneth Branagh has returned to the Royal Shakespeare Company to star in a production of *The Tempest*, taking on the role of Prospero for the first time. While Branagh's portrayal is described as somewhat underwhelming and rushed, the production itself is praised for its enchanting sights, sounds, and strong ensemble work. Richard Eyre's direction is noted for successfully bringing a strong sense of performance to the play.
The Tempest review – Kenneth Branagh returns to the RSC in this enchanting production
Royal Shakespeare theatre, Stratford-upon-AvonProspero is reimagined as a conductor in this superbly orchestrated version of Shakespeare’s tragicomedyKenneth Branagh is said to have played 35 Shakespearean parts, albeit back in the day. Seeing him speaking in verse these days is something of an event, all the more so when he is making a return to the Royal Shakespeare Company after more than 30 years to take on, for the first time, Shakespeare’s magician, deposed duke and tyrant occupier....
Distance Mapping and Variable-Specific Geometry of Goal-Relevant Frames in the Retrosplenial Cortex
Goal-directed navigation requires animals to continuously update their position relative to an unmarked goal. Here, we recorded retrosplenial cortex (RSC) activity in freely moving rats during goal-directed navigation and random foraging. We found that RSC neurons encoded the Euclidean distance to the goal, and that this distance representation was selectively biased toward the goal during navigation.
Top Republican pushes for reconciliation 3.0 to address affordability
As Congress scrambles to assemble a third reconciliation package, the Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) struck an optimistic tone in an interview on the Ruthless Podcast. "On affordability, on fraud, and on defense, I think that we're going to run a two-minute drill," Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, said in an exclusive interview released Tuesday morning. "In fact, we’re in the middle of planning for it right now.
Lignin to adipic acid in a high-yield chemical and biological redox process
Abstract Viable manufacturing pathways to produce bio-based chemicals from renewable feedstocks, such as lignin derived from plant biomass, are needed to decarbonize the chemicals manufacturing sector. Converting the recalcitrant lignin polymer to valuable bioproducts remains a longstanding challenge in biorefining, with the highest reported single-product yield from lignin currently around 20 wt% (refs. Most existing lignin depolymerization strategies target aryl–ether bond cleavage, which...
