jXBW: A Compressed Index for Structure-Aware JSONL Retrieval in Structured RAG

arXiv:2508.12536v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Providing \textit{structured} information to large language models (LLMs) improves multi-step reasoning and factual grounding, and recent retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems therefore reconstruct structure from retrieved text on every query. When the corpus is \emph{already} structured -- as in JSON Lines (JSONL), a popular format for LLM prompts, chemical compounds, and geospatial records -- this per-query rebuilding can be...

Non-existence of Information-Geometric Fermat Structures: Violation of Dual Lattice Consistency in Statistical Manifolds with $L^n$ Structure

Announce Type: replace Abstract: This paper reformulates Fermat's Last Theorem as an embedding problem of information-geometric structures. We reinterpret the Fermat equation as an $n$-th moment constraint, constructing a statistical manifold $\mathcal{M}_n$ of generalized normal distributions via the Maximum Entropy Principle. By Chentsov's Theorem, the natural metric is the Fisher information metric ($L^2$); however, the global structure is governed by the $L^n$ moment constraint.

Structure-Informed Bounds on the Kronecker Rank of Block-Structured Matrices

arXiv:2605.30908v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We derive theoretical bounds on the Kronecker rank of block-structured matrices that possess both inner and outer structure. Building on the matrix-to-tensor and tensor-to-matrix framework of Kilmer and Saibaba ($\textit{SIAM J. Matrix Anal.

Can LLMs Reason Structurally? Benchmarking via the Lens of Data Structures

Announce Type: replace Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) are deployed on increasingly complex tasks that require multi-step decision-making. Understanding their algorithmic reasoning abilities is therefore crucial. However, we lack a diagnostic benchmark for evaluating these capabilities.

AnchorSteer: Self-Discovered Concept Injection for Structure-Preserving Music Editing

arXiv:2605.31053v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Controllable music editing is to modify high-level attributes while strictly preserving rhythmic and melodic structures. However, this task is challenged by a semantic-structural entanglement: steering methods often degrade structure to achieve editing performance, while structural adaptors suppress semantic responsiveness. We propose AnchorSteer, a framework that disentangles this tension by coupling structural anchoring with self-discovered...

SciFlow-Bench: Evaluating Structure-Aware Scientific Diagram Generation via Inverse Parsing

arXiv:2602.09809v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Scientific diagrams convey explicit structural information, yet modern text-to-image models often produce visually plausible but structurally incorrect results. Existing benchmarks either rely on image-centric or subjective metrics insensitive to structure, or evaluate intermediate symbolic representations rather than final rendered images, leaving pixel-based diagram generation underexplored. We introduce SciFlow-Bench, a structure-first...

Overlooked DNA structures help organize the genome

Overlooked DNA structures help organize the genome Lisa Lock Scientific Editor Robert Egan Associate Editor Northwestern Medicine scientists have discovered that little-studied DNA structures play a central role in organizing the human genome and controlling gene activity, according to a new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The study revealed that G-quadruplexes (G4s)—four-stranded DNA structures—directly interact with a key genome-organizing protein...

Giant fan-shaped structure found under East Antarctica

Giant fan-shaped structure found under East Antarctica Gaby Clark Scientific Editor Robert Egan Associate Editor An international team of researchers including our Department of Geography has discovered a vast geological structure hidden beneath the East Antarctic Ice Sheet. The findings are published in the journal Nature Geoscience. Enormous subglacial basins The structure is made up of a system of enormous subglacial basins buried in ice over three kilometers thick in parts.

Scientists discover giant, fan-shaped structure deep beneath the East Antarctic Ice Sheet

Scientists discover giant, fan-shaped structure deep beneath the East Antarctic Ice Sheet A mysterious geological structure that resembles a human hand with outstretched fingers has been revealed beneath East Antarctica. The discovery shows the frozen continent still hides many geological secrets. Scientists have discovered a giant, fan-shaped structure that connects several well-known basins deep beneath the East Antarctic Ice Sheet — and it may have formed in the breakup of the ancient...

Enhancing Spatial Reasoning in Large Language Models for Metal-Organic Frameworks Structure Prediction

arXiv:2601.09285v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials with broad applications such as carbon capture and drug delivery, yet accurately predicting their 3D structures remains a significant challenge. While Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown promise in generating crystal structures, their application to MOFs is hindered by MOFs' high structural complexity arising from the large number of atoms in unit cell. Inspired by the...
