The glymphatic system mediates brain-wide cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) transport and is highly sensitive to brain state. Experimental studies show that 2-adrenergic agonist based anesthesia enhances glymphatic CSF influx, whereas isoflurane markedly suppresses it.
