'Surreal': Montgomery hits walk-off HR in debut
CHICAGO -- Calling it "something out of dreams," Chicago White Sox rookie Braden Montgomery on Tuesday became the fifth player since 1900 to hit a walk-off homer in his MLB debut. Montgomery, 23, hit a 0-1 changeup off Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias, erasing a 5-4 deficit with two outs and a runner on third base in the bottom of the 10th inning. Pandemonium ensued as the ball landed in the White Sox bullpen while Montgomery began his trip around the bases for his first career home run.

Atlanta's reign atop our list continues for the fourth consecutive week, as the Braves narrowly beat out the Dodgers for the No. 1 spot in Week 10. It was a big week for the National League as the Brewers round out our top three, marking the first time this season that the top three teams have all been from the NL. The Pirates, Phillies and Padres join the trio in our top 10, as the Yankees, Rays, Mariners and Guardians represent the American League in the top 10.

Injuries have struck the Chicago Cubs' rotation hard this season, from Cade Horton's UCL repair with InternalBrace in April to Matthew Boyd's two stints on the IL thus far (first for a biceps strain, and currently for meniscus surgery) to Edward Cabrera's current blister issues. Fortunately for them, one of their emerging youngsters has stepped up to admirably fill in the gaps. Major League Baseball's trade season is fast approaching, and the sport's cramped standings are providing little clarity on who's likeliest to end up where. There are too many contenders -- and too many teams whose dreams of contention remain -- to figure out how this deadline is likely to operate. At this time last year, remember, the Milwaukee Brewers, who wound up winning a major league-best 97 games, were barely above .500.
