Diverse binding poses of agonistic neurotoxins on human Nav1.6
Abstract Voltage-gated sodium (Nav) channels are key targets of various venomous toxins. Deciphering the binding poses and mechanisms of action of representative toxins will help to dissect the functional mechanism of the channels and facilitate therapeutic development targeting Nav channels1,2. Here we present cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structures of distinct binding poses of three agonistic peptide toxins on the human Nav1.6–β1 channel complex.
Two-component exciton condensates in an electron–hole bilayer
Abstract Macroscopic quantum coherence emerges when bosons condense into a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC)1,2,3,4,5. Excitons are a long-sought solid-state route to high-temperature BECs with strong interactions, electrical tunability and potentially multicomponent spinor order, but conclusive evidence for equilibrium condensation has remained elusive. Here we report evidence for two-component exciton BECs in MoSe2/hBN/WSe2 electron–hole bilayers6,7,8,9 by probing the spin–valley...
Classification of independent sets in signed Johnson graphs and applications to kissing arrangements
Announce Type: new Abstract: Johnson graph are a family of graphs that play an important role in the theory of constant-weight codes, extremal combinatorics, and combinatorial geometry. We study signed analogues of classical Johnson graphs, denoted by $J_\pm(n,k)$, whose vertices are vectors of the form $\pm e_{i_1}\pm\cdots\pm e_{i_k}$, where two vertices are adjacent whenever their dot product equals $k-1$. We are particularly interested in maximum independent sets in the case $k=4$. An...
Restartable Sequences
May 31st, 2026 @ justine's web page The best kept secret at the frontier of system programming right now is the Linux 4.18+ (c. 2018) concept of restartable sequences or rseq for short. They allow you to create thread-safe data structures without locks or atomics which scale to microprocessors with many cores. It's currently only possible to use rseq on Linux using handwritten assembly code.
Mutation-dependent responses to sleep and exercise in clonal haematopoiesis
Abstract Clonal haematopoiesis (CH) activates inflammation and increases the risk of atherosclerosis1,2. Whether lifestyle alters CH clone expansion or the phenotypic programming of CH mutant cells, thereby affecting atherosclerosis, is unknown. Here, in humans and mice and across mutations in Jak2, Tet2, Trp53 and Dnmt3a, we demonstrate mutation-dependent responses to sleep and exercise in CH and show that mutant cells are uniquely sensitive to lifestyle.
A Framework for Graph-Conditioned Hierarchical Shapley Attribution in Patent Valuation
arXiv:2606.01632v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Estimating the economic contribution of a single patent inside a product that embodies tens of thousands of patents is a long-standing unsolved problem in intellectual property economics. We propose PatentXAI, a framework that treats patent valuation as a problem of explainable AI: given a characteristic function v(S) encoding the revenue achievable by patent subset S, a patent's Shapley value measures its fair share of product profit in a way...
A prognostic human brain network for diffuse midline glioma
Abstract Diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) are near-universally lethal tumours of the childhood central nervous system1,2. In animal models, DMGs form brain-wide integrated networks through neuron-to-glioma synapses3,4,5,6 and glioma-to-glioma gap junctional coupling3. This extensive connectivity robustly promotes the growth and invasion of DMG3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and other glial malignancies10,11,12 through paracrine mechanisms and direct neuron-to-glioma synapses.
A Cluster Expansion and the Decay of Correlations of the 1D Long-Range Ising Model at Low Temperatures
Mathematical Physics [Submitted on 12 Feb 2026 (v1), last revised 29 May 2026 (this version, v2)] Title:A Cluster Expansion and the Decay of Correlations of the 1D Long-Range Ising Model at Low Temperatures View PDF HTML (experimental)Abstract:In this work, a convergent low-temperature cluster expansion of the one-dimensional long-range ferromagnetic Ising model with polynomial decay $\alpha\in (1,2]$ is developed; that is, $J(r)=r^{-\alpha}$. As an application, the $n$-point correlations...
The Choreography of Augmented Reality Timelines: Studying the Relative Position, Chronology, & Situatedness of Event Sequences
Announce Type: new Abstract: Timelines are effective ways to tell historical and personal stories. However, most timeline visualization tools impose an inflexible model of time prioritizing chronological clarity. On the other hand, unconstrained representations can better capture the irregular and contextual nature of lived time, but often at the cost of interpretability.
InFerActive: Interactive Tree-Based Exploration of LLM Sampling for Safety Evaluation
arXiv:2512.10234v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Even LLMs that appear safe during evaluation can still produce harmful responses in deployment. Because stochastic sampling yields different responses to the same prompt, low-probability harmful outputs can still reach users at scale. Common human evaluation workflows generate many random samples per prompt and review them in static spreadsheets.
