Strong Polarization and Entropy
arXiv:2606.02567v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We show that for any set of $n$ unit vectors $v_1,\ldots,v_n$ in a real Hilbert space and positive numbers $p_1,\ldots,p_n$ satisfying $\sum_j p_j = 1$, there exists a unit vector $u$ such that \[ \sum_{j=1}^n \frac{p_j^2}{\langle v_j, u\rangle^2}\leq 1. This inequality is a weighted version of the strong polarization inequality. As immediate corollaries, it yields a polarization inequality for products of powers of linear functionals and a...
DynMuon: A Dynamic Spectral Shaping View of Muon
arXiv:2605.17109v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: In recent years, Muon has emerged as the dominant method for training large language models, and transformers more broadly. The essential difference, when compared to standard gradient descent methods, is to replace the usual update matrix $M=U\Sigma V^\top$ with its polar factor $UV^\top$. In this work, we consider a class of Muon-like updates, where we replace the update $M$ with $U\Sigma^p V^\top$ for some parameter $p$. We call this a...
Generalized TV--$\ell_p$ Structured Priors for Bayesian $T_1$ Mapping
arXiv:2606.05381v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We propose an extended family of structured spatial priors that incorporates the total variation (TV) function with $\ell_p$ norms. The prior is proven to be proper and incorporated into a Bayesian regression framework to enable uncertainty quantification in $T_1$ mapping, with posterior inference performed using the No-U-Turn Sampler (NUTS). This TV--$\ell_p$ construction is proven to constitute a well-defined family of prior distributions,...
Mutation-dependent responses to sleep and exercise in clonal haematopoiesis
Abstract Clonal haematopoiesis (CH) activates inflammation and increases the risk of atherosclerosis1,2. Whether lifestyle alters CH clone expansion or the phenotypic programming of CH mutant cells, thereby affecting atherosclerosis, is unknown. Here, in humans and mice and across mutations in Jak2, Tet2, Trp53 and Dnmt3a, we demonstrate mutation-dependent responses to sleep and exercise in CH and show that mutant cells are uniquely sensitive to lifestyle.
ND-TNN: Tensor-Neural-Network Approximation for High-Dimensional Nonlocal Diffusion Models
arXiv:2606.08685v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We study a numerical method, built on the tensor neural network (TNN) architecture introduced in \cite{wang2022tensor}, for solving nonlocal diffusion models in high-dimensional spaces. The tensor-product structure of the TNN ansatz, combined with the separability of the Gaussian kernel, reduces the high-dimensional integrals in the nonlocal energy to products of low-dimensional integrals, which are evaluated by Gauss--Legendre quadrature;...
On the sharp linear convergence rate of the circumcentered--reflection method on subspaces
arXiv:2606.07888v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: For two subspaces $U,V\subseteq\RR^n$, the circumcentered--reflection method (CRM) of Behling, Bello-Cruz, and Santos~\cite{BBS2018} computes the projection onto $U\cap V$ using only the reflections across $U$ and $V$, with known linear-convergence rate $c_F$, the cosine of the Friedrichs angle. We prove that, when CRM is initialized in $V$, it contracts at the strictly smaller rate...
A prognostic human brain network for diffuse midline glioma
Abstract Diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) are near-universally lethal tumours of the childhood central nervous system1,2. In animal models, DMGs form brain-wide integrated networks through neuron-to-glioma synapses3,4,5,6 and glioma-to-glioma gap junctional coupling3. This extensive connectivity robustly promotes the growth and invasion of DMG3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and other glial malignancies10,11,12 through paracrine mechanisms and direct neuron-to-glioma synapses.

A first-in-class pulsatile FXR agonist for bile-acid-related liver diseases
Abstract Nuclear receptors are central regulators of metabolism1, yet therapeutic strategies that enforce continuous receptor activation frequently lead to reduced efficacy and unacceptable toxicity. Here we report a first-principles drug design strategy that aligns pharmacokinetics with physiological signalling cycles. We developed linafexor, a potent non-bile-acid agonist of the farnesoid X receptor (FXR)2; it is engineered for rapid systemic clearance, which enables pulsatile receptor...
