AI Model Extraction Attacks: Bypassing Single-Client Assumptions in Defenses

Announce Type: new Abstract: Ensuring the protection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models deployed in military Command and Control (C2) systems and critical infrastructure is essential for maintaining information superiority. Model Extraction Attacks (MEAs) pose a significant threat, as they enable adversaries to replicate proprietary models, compromise protected information, and prepare offline adversarial attacks. However, current defense strategies predominantly rely on the Single...

Secure Two-Party Matrix Multiplication from Lattices and Its Application to Encrypted Control

arXiv:2603.22857v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: In this study, we propose a two-party computation protocol for approximate matrix multiplication of fixed-point numbers. The proposed protocol is provably secure under standard lattice-based cryptographic assumptions and enables matrix multiplication at a desired approximation level within a single round of communication. We demonstrate the feasibility of the protocol by applying it to the secure implementation of a linear control law.

Parallel Reconstruction of Lawful TLS Wiretapping

Parallel Reconstruction of Lawful TLS Wiretapping Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the protocol involved in getting the lock icon to appear in your browser next to the URL. Under the hood it uses a bunch of really cool numbers for encryption. Some numbers are considered private and need securing; some are considered public and are fine for sharing.

The Painful Truth About Long Covid

Nothing about long Covid adds up. Consider prevalence rates: How could one study find it affected 3.3 percent of the population of the UK but others an alarming 51 percent of South Americans and 86 percent of Egyptians? Or treatment methods: The BMJ’s systematic review of ways to treat long Covid lists two as supported by moderate evidence, cognitive behavioral therapy and physical exercise.

A menacing message: Why Iran's latest strikes against Israel are different

Iran's latest missile-and-drone barrage against Israel were not militarily noteworthy: a few high-value targets were struck, casualties were unclear, and Israel’s missile defences largely absorbed the onslaught. Yet alarm bells were set off globally. Judging the incident only by its military effect misses the deadly consequential shifts beneath the surface.
