The chain is bringing back its massive 'Godfather' steak. Aldi is reintroducing what is one of its most popular steaks in time for Father's Day, with the return of its enormous 28oz Godfather Rump Steak. The supermarket has announced a selection of premium beef cuts arriving in stores from 15 June, but it's the comeback of the substantial Godfather steak that's set to capture shoppers' attention. Priced at £11.99, the 794g British rump steak is aged for 21 days and makes its return after previously gaining a devoted fanbase among Aldi customers. When the steak appeared on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page during an earlier release, shoppers were swift to express their excitement. One person wrote: "OMG, I loved this last year. Might have 2 this year." Another person said: "Oooooo love too get me gums round that." Someone else said: "Allie babe, that is so me we need to get them." The Godfather steak is part of Aldi's Father's Day meat collection, which also features the introduction of a new Flat Iron Man Steak. The extra-large British beef cut is priced at £15.99 per kilogram and has been created as a showstopper for barbecues and family gatherings. For shoppers wanting to splash out, Aldi is also reintroducing its Specially Selected Wagyu Bone-In Sirloin, priced at £34.99 per kilogram. The premium cut sits firmly at the top of the supermarket's Father's Day range. Also making its debut in the line-up is a new Specially Selected Bourbon Beef Short Rib, priced at £11.99 per kilogram. The slow-cooked ribs are smothered in a bourbon barbecue sauce and are crafted to bring a rich, smoky taste to your summer gatherings. To round off the perfect meal, shoppers can team the steaks with Aldi's Skin On Beef Dripping Chips, Specially Selected Chunky Oven Chips or Cavolo Nero side dishes. The Father's Day range hits Aldi stores across the country from 15 June, subject to availability.
