Ousted Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed China has a “thousand-year plan to destroy the United States” and has been funneling Chinese nationals over the U.S. border to try to change the country.
The special envoy for the Shield of Americas made the bizarre claim during a Tuesday interview with Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo, asserting that she has received intelligence that shows Beijing-backed networks have been helping undocumented migrants into the U.S.
“We saw very coordinated attacks of people coming into this country from China,” Noem said. “Countries that I have worked with in Latin and South America have told us how they had Chinese operations set up for people to fly into their countries, almost like a travel agency would be.”
Those undocumented migrants would be given certain documents before going on a bus over the U.S.-Mexico border, Noem claimed.
“Overwhelmingly, the testimonies have been that they were the same-aged individuals. Young, mainly men, some females, but very much a coordinated attempt to get individuals into our country, to change our country,” she said.
Republicans have warned that a record number of Chinese immigrants have been entering the U.S., as over 22,000 encounters involving Chinese nationals have been reported at the southern border since 2023, according to the report.
Noem noted that U.S. intelligence has shown that China is a primary source of illicit fentanyl precursor chemicals, which it then sends to Mexican cartels to be used for trafficking the illegal drug.
“They have facilitated that,” Noem said. “I wouldn’t say, necessarily, we found ties to it officially, right to the government, but absolutely. Chinese businesses, those tied to the CCP, those individuals working with the cartels to make sure that the product gets into the United States.”
Noem continued, “And remember, China has a thousand-year plan to destroy the United States. They don’t just build up their military. They don’t just manipulate their currency, harm us with trade practices.”
“They have a plan to kill our country from the inside by killing off our next generation of Americans. They will use every tool that they have,” she claimed.
President Donald Trump fired Noem, the former South Dakota governor, from her role as Homeland Security Secretary on March 5, and appointed Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin as her replacement.
Noem, who led the agency behind Trump’s mass deportation agenda, oversaw tens of thousands of immigrants removed from the U.S., with chaotic immigration operations resulting in the deaths of at least three Americans. However, many of her moves were met with outrage including a $220 million ad campaign that happened right before her dismissal.
