Leon Gillespie ,26, pleaded guilty to causing a nuisance without reasonable excuse at a NHS premise, and was handed a £200 fine by Llandudno Magistrates. The ghoul dressed up in a ‘Grim Reaper’ outfit, and was fined for climbing onto the hospital roof in the outfit as he stared at staff and visitors. Gillespie was seen flaunting a long blade and making noise above the hospital building. He was dressed in a black outfit that he later described as a crow costume, leaving visitors of the hospital in for a shock when they looked up to see a mystery figure above Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital in St Asaph, Denbighshire on June 6. Four police cars and fire service vehicles were called to the hospital during the incident, and eventually managed to get him down. They had been sent alerts that a man was dressed in black from head-to-toe, and was standing over the entrance to the hospital. Gillespie had not given a reason for his disturbing behaviour. Gillespie also stole £30 to £40 of cat food and litter from a local Pets at Home on March 26, along with food and drink from Sainsbury's in Llandudno on May 28, a court heard. He was ordered to pay £100 in fines, £100 in cost to the Crown Prosecution Service and £50 in compensation. A spokesperson for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board said: "The health board has previously stated it has a zero tolerance approach to abuse, aggression or nuisance within its hospital sites." At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "He was charged with other than for the purpose of obtaining medical advice, treatment or care, caused, without reasonable excuse, a nuisance or disturbance to a National Health Service staff member who was working there or was otherwise there in connection with work, and refused, without reasonable excuse, to leave the premises when asked to do so by a constable."
