The Pretenders frontwoman, 74, has issued multiple appeals to social media for the safe return of her five-year-old Jack Russell cross, Nico, who was last seen in a park in London. Hynde shared a photo of her beloved dog on Instagram on Thursday as she made her latest plea, and wrote: "Can anyone in Great Britain tell me of the whereabouts of my little dog Nico? "I don't know if someone has fallen in love with her and is harbouring her in their home? Or maybe someone has grabbed her and using her for some malicious purpose…? Or maybe she's been knocked over by a car and is lying in a bush, dying. "Please, please, please if anyone has seen her at all, can you let me know? Last seen: Silkstream Park in Colindale, London. NW7/NW9." Her online fans were quick to offer their support, with one writing: "Praying or Nico's return!!" "Feeling and knowing the anguish and desperately hoping Nico is found," a fan said, while another went on to write: "She so gorgeous please universe bring Nico home to her mummy." A follower penned: "Oh I do hope you find her Chrissie! There are several volunteer organisations in the UK who can help you find a lost dog. Friends here in Edinburgh managed to found their family dog with lots of support from lovely volunteers. I'll be keeping you and your beautiful dog in my thoughts!" "Chrissie devastated for you. She said Nico was last seen near the entrance to Silkstream Park in Colindale just over two weeks ago, and urged her followers not to chase the dog if they spot her “as she might be very nervous”. The singer also described the dog as having a “tan coat with white markings” and “wearing a black collar with a silver tag” in a previous plea to “help us bring her home”. Hynde is best known for founding rock band Pretenders in 1978, and is the lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter of the chart-topping group. She leads the current line-up alongside drummers Martin Chambers and Kris Sonne, and guitarist James Walbourne. The group are famed for hits such as Brass In Pocket, Talk Of The Town and Don’t Get Me Wrong, and have achieved multiple Grammy nominations, one UK number one single and a chart-topping album.
