The Bacchus Marsh man, who briefly appeared before Melbourne Magistrates' Court tonight, is accused of killing a 41-year-old woman. Her body was found inside a property in Connor Street about 3:30am on August 26.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital under police guard.
Homicide Squad detectives today charged him with murder, with the man appearing before court via video link from custody. He did not apply for bail.
The case has been adjourned, with a committal mention due to take place on November 23.
Police will allege the parties involved knew each other.
