David Beckham nets £40MILLION thanks to string of big money World Cup deals David Beckham cashed in on his global fame with a host of commercial deals around the World Cup to help profits at his brand arm leap nearly 50% last year Superstar David Beckham has netted another £40million as a key part of his business empire notched-up a record year. Newly released accounts show the former England football captain raked it in from a string of lucrative commercial deals in the run-up to this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Profits at DRJB Holdings, which looks after the Becks’ brand, jumped nearly 50% to £50million last year. That triggered a bumper dividend for Golden Balls, who still owns 45% of the business., and has since bagged another £21million payout from the firm. It caps another stunning year for Sir David, which was knighted by King Charles last November and who was confirmed as Britain’s first billionaire sportsman earlier this year. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in June this year to acknowledge his role in boosting football’s profile in the United States. The Sunday Times Rich List estimated his and wife Victoria’s fortune at nearly £1.2billion, with their wealth having surged from £500million a year ago. The one major setback for the couple has been son Brooklyn Beckham’s feud with his parents. The amateur chef, 27, decided to turn his back on his family and famous parents after a bitter fallout. He issued a lengthy statement online where he said he had been “silent for years” and accused his family of “trying to endlessly ruin his relationship”. An important part of Sir David’s fortune comes from trading on his famous name and image. Revenues at DRJB, which was bought by Authentic Brands Group in 2022, rose by a fifth to £84million in 2025 thanks to “new commercial partnerships and product launches, creating significant momentum ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup”. Big money deals struck in the run-up to the tournament in North America and Mexico included with fast food giant McDonald’s, communications heavyweight Verizon, and PepsiCo’s crisps brand Lay’s. Beckham, 51, already has commercial tie-ups with everyone from Bank of America to fashion firm Hugo Boss, with whom he launched a eyewear collection. Corey Salter, chief executive of entertainment at Authentic, said: “The recent financial performance has again demonstrated why David Beckham is one of the most powerful global brands in sport, lifestyle, entertainment and much more. It’s been an outstanding year, from new partnerships to important philanthropic campaigns and overall brand growth. “What these results show is that behind the Beckham brand is a strong and highly effective team within Authentic, set up with the financial discipline and strong fundamentals to continue to grow profitably through 2026 and beyond.”
