Motorists have been hit with soaring prices caused by Trump's war with Iran
Tesco shoppers have been told there’s a three day deadline to take advantage of an offer which could take £8 off a tank of fuel. Drivers have until Sunday, October 18 to make the most of a new deal for drivers. The retail giant operates around 600 petrol stations across the UK and has launched a promotion offering customers 8p off per litre of fuel.
Prices have soared in recent months due to turmoil in global markets sparked by the US-Israeli conflict with Iran and Russia’s continuing war in Ukraine. Government ministers have moved to reassure the public amid growing concerns over supply, as prices reached £2 a litre for the very first time.
The previous record high stood at 199.09p, set in June 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Tesco’s offer will provide drivers with some much-needed relief, though there is a maximum saving of £8 per tank.
Customers who spend £60 or more in-store at Tesco by Sunday October 18 will receive a coupon with their receipt, entitling them to 8p off per litre of petrol or diesel at a Tesco filling station.
Shoppers will then have until Sunday October 25 to redeem their fuel coupon by scanning it at the petrol station till. This means fuel must be paid for in person, so the voucher cannot be used at pay-at-pump facilities, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The maximum discount available is £8, which is £2 less than when this promotion previously ran in August. Given that the average motorist fills up between 35 and 45 litres of fuel, most drivers are likely to save somewhere between £2.80 and £3.60
