Urgent 'do not eat' caution issued for popular snack bars over health risk Customers have been told to return the snacks to stores for a refund A range of popular snack bars has been recalled after a health risk was found. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published a food recall notice, urging customers to check whether they are affected. Full On Flapjacks has recalled a series of its flapjack products due to undeclared allergens. The products contain almonds (nuts), soya and wheat (gluten), which are not declared on the label. The FSA said: "These products contain almonds, soya and wheat, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts) or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat containing gluten, or with coeliac disease." The recall is for England and Wales. Affected products Bakewell Flapjack (Undeclared allergens: Almonds (nuts), Soya, Wheat (gluten)) - Pack size: All sizes - Best before: All dates Raspberry Yoghurt Flapjack (Undeclared allergens: Soya and Wheat (gluten)) - Pack size: All sizes - Best before: All dates White Chocolate Flapjack (Undeclared allergens: Soya and Wheat (gluten)) - Pack size: All sizes - Best before: All dates Blueberry Swirl Flapjack (Undeclared allergens: Soya and Wheat (gluten)) - Pack size: All sizes - Best before: All dates Caramel Flapjack (Undeclared allergens: Soya and Wheat (gluten)) - Pack size: All sizes - Best before: All dates The FSA added: "Full On Flapjacks is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. "The business has issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. "If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to almonds (nuts) or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat containing gluten, or with coeliac disease, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund." Full On Flapjacks said: "If you have bought any of the affected products listed above and you have an allergy to almond, soya or wheat, do not eat them. "Instead, return the product to the store from which you purchased it for a full refund. For further information, please contact: [email protected]." Other snack bar recalls Last week, another range of snack bars was recalled due to allergy risks. Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars have been packaged in Skinny Whip Toffee bar wrappers instead, which do not declare peanuts as an ingredient. This means the product poses a potential health risk to anyone with a peanut allergy. As a result, the affected bars have been recalled from Asda and Sainsbury's customers. Halo Foods said: "Halo Foods apologises for any inconvenience caused and is taking this matter seriously, please note that no other Skinny products are affected by this action." Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars - Pack size: Five x 20g - Batch code: 6238 (08:30 - 10:30) - Best before: August 2027 Why are allergy alerts issued? The FSA issues allergy alerts when there are problems with food items that should not be sold. It explained: "Then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). "Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert."
