'David Beckham' lookalike window cleaner flooded with comments after posting advert Tom, 31, posted an advert for his window cleaning business - and was bombarded with replies When Tom Bedford posted an advert about his window cleaning business, he was looking for work. He didn't expect the response he got. Tom, 31, uploaded a fake Ring doorbell-style picture to a local group covering Mitcham in south London. The ad was cleverly posed as an irate post about a 'thief' who had stolen all their moss and weeds, intended to drum up trade for Tom's company. Yet instead of people reacting by asking him to do some work, his comments instead lit up with responses saying he looked like David Beckham or other stars such as Ryan Gosling and Tom Hardy. Tom admits he is "flattered" by all the attention. But despite the post racking up thousands of likes and comments, Tom revealed he has not actually gained any new work for Better View, his home exterior and window cleaning firm. He said: "I don't think I have had a single job from it and it is on 1.2 million views. "I have had quite a few posts go viral over the years but I didn't think this would be like that. It is quite a shock." Tom, from Mitcham, says he had spotted a similar advert from other local businesses and decided to try his luck - without expecting much of a response. He edited himself into a doorbell camera-style photograph and shared it across several local groups alongside a humorous caption. Fans were quick to draw comparisons to celebrities including Beckham, footballer Harry Kane and singer Gary Barlow. Others likened him to actors Ryan Gosling and Tom Hardy, as well as footballer Luke Shaw. Tom, who started his business eight years ago, says he does appreciate the compliments. He said: "I am flattered. I have been compared to Harry Kane and Gary Barlow a lot as well as Luke Shaw. Those seem to be the most common ones. "I am glad I didn't put my mobile on it. There are quite a few people asking for my mobile number now."
