UK snow forecast as maps show flurries in 50 counties including southern England Snow could fall in parts of England, Scotland and Wales next week, as weather modelling data shows some flurries may potentially reach southern parts of the UK Weather forecasting models suggest snow is on the cards next week, with some flurries potentially even reaching southern parts of England. The Met Office has said temperatures are expected to turn colder towards the end of this week, and now the GFS weather model shows snow could fall at the start of next week, initially in northern parts of Scotland on the afternoon of November 10 before moving south. Data for 3am on November 11 shows intense flurries hitting North Wales and the north-west of England, with snow potentially coming down at a rate of around 4mm per hour before drifting south-eastward across England. By 6am, the GFS model maps show the heaviest snow falling in eastern parts of England. Some could also reach areas close to the south coast of England. Snow coverage data for 9am shows swathes of south-eastern, central and northern England could see some snow settle on the ground, although accumulations aren’t expected to rise much above 1cm anywhere barring hills in Scotland. In total, the GFS model maps suggest 50 counties could see some snow next week. They are all in England, Wales and Scotland.
