Four-year-old girl dies after being hit by car A 59-year-old man has been arrested over the incident - Bookmark A young girl has died in hospital after being hit by a car in the Nottinghamshire village of Gotham. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, just before 2.30pm, on Nottingham Rd. Nottinghamshire Police said the girl died a short time afterwards in hospital. A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been questioned and released on bail. The force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses to the crash. “This is a deeply tragic incident and our thoughts are with the young girl's loved ones at this unimaginably difficult time,” Sergeant Paul Clark said. “The circumstances are being investigated and we would ask people not to speculate on social media.
