Man dies after being found with life-threatening injuries in Qld home

Police have established two crime scenes in a regional Queensland town as part of an investigation into the "sudden" death of a man aged in his 80s. Emergency services were called to a property on Ivan Street in Surat, 80 kilometres south of Roma and 450 kilometres west of Brisbane, at about 3:40pm on Thursday. A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were initially called to a "medical episode" at the residential property. When they arrived, they found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the Surat Hospital, where he later died. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) said two crime scenes had since been declared at a unit and at a nearby vehicle. Police said the man's "sudden" death was being treated as suspicious and investigations were ongoing. A QPS spokesperson said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
