Power outages saw primary schools in Aberdeenshire close today, while a number of other primary schools were closed across the Highlands.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) confirmed this morning that approximately 25,000 customers were still without power, while around 70,000 had already been reconnected, reports the Daily Star.
