Representation over Routing: Diagnosing Temporal Routing Pathologies in Multi-Timescale PPO

Announce Type: replace Abstract: Temporal credit assignment in reinforcement learning is often approached by introducing value estimates at multiple discount factors. A natural next step is to let the actor dynamically route among these temporal heads, using either differentiable attention or heuristic uncertainty weights. This paper argues that such routing can create a numerical shortcut rather than a reliable temporal abstraction.

Tuning Dispatch Thresholds for Fixed Last-Mile Routes: A Simulation-Based Pareto Analysis of a Production Policy

arXiv:2606.09455v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Many parcel networks dispatch vehicles on \emph{fixed routes} using a simple load-accumulation rule: a truck leaves the depot for a fixed route as soon as the volume (or item count) waiting for that route crosses a threshold. The threshold is usually parameterised as an affine function of route length, $\tau_r=\beta+\gamma\,d_r$, and the pair $(\beta,\gamma)$ is chosen once and frozen into production. This paper studies how good that frozen...

STAR: Rethinking MoE Routing as Structure-Aware Subspace Learning

Announce Type: new Abstract: Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) scales model capacity efficiently by selectively routing inputs to a specialized subset of experts. However, input-expert specialization, the core motivation of MoE, critically depends on whether the router is actually aware of input structure. In practice, MoE routing is typically implemented as a shallow linear projection with limited awareness of input representation, which often leads to unstable routing.

Poland revives controversial ‘Highway to Hel’ 666 bus route

Poland revives controversial ‘Highway to Hel’ 666 bus route Religious groups have previously accused route operator of ‘spreading satanism’ - Bookmark - CommentsGo to comments A controversial route number 666 bus service to the seaside resort of Hel in Poland is to be revived by its operator this summer. The so-called ‘Highway to Hel’ was run by local company PKS Gdynia, but was changed to 669 in 2023 following protests from some religious groups. One organisation had accused the bus company...

From Sampled Outcomes to Capability Distributions: Rethinking Supervision for LLM Routing

Announce Type: new Abstract: Existing LLM routing methods typically treat a model's single response to a query as its capability label for training routers. However, because LLM generation is inherently stochastic, such single-shot supervision provides only a noisy observation of a query-model pair's behavior rather than a reliable capability estimate. We show that this assumption introduces systematic noise into routing supervision, making learned routing policies less reliable.

Edge-aware Decoding for Neural Asymmetric Routing

Announce Type: new Abstract: Neural asymmetric routing models increasingly encode directionality through matrix representations and asymmetry-aware attention. The final routing action, however, is not a node in isolation but a directed transition chosen under the current partial route. This creates a representation--decision mismatch: pairwise cost information may be encoded upstream while the final candidate logit is still largely parameterized as context--node compatibility.

Geometric Routing in Geometric Inhomogeneous Random Graphs

arXiv:2606.02856v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We present the first rigorous analysis of decentralized geometric routing in Geometric Inhomogeneous Random Graphs (GIRGs), a weight-agnostic variant of the greedy routing protocol. While greedy routing in GIRGs is known to explain the algorithmic small-world phenomenon by finding ultra-short paths of length $\Theta (\log \log n)$, it assumes additional knowledge of vertex weights beyond geometry, an assumption that is often restrictive or...

Ryanair announces new route to major UK airports as part of big expansion plans

Ryanair announces new route to major UK airports as part of big expansion plans Ryanair is forecasting that around four million passengers will be transported on average every single year as a result of the expansion as part of a huge investment Ryanair has announced it is expanding its operations and running new routes to major airports in the UK. At Warsaw Modlin airport, Ryanair’s eight based aircraft will operate 30 routes, including to five new destinations in Bristol and Manchester -...

BERS: Locally Optimal Continuous Algorithm for Maritime Weather Routing with Just-in-Time Arrival

new Abstract: Maritime weather routing must optimize route geometry under dynamic wind-wave conditions, obstacle constraints, and fixed-arrival requirements. We present B\'ezier Evolve and Refine Strategy (\name{}), a two-stage framework that combines global evolutionary search (CMA-ES) with local variational refinement (FMS). Routes are parametrized as B\'ezier curves and evaluated with dense along-path sampling, enabling smooth trajectories while preserving practical feasibility...
